WHAT IS 1Fe-LSD?

1Fe-LSD (1-ferrocenoyl-LSD hemi L-tartrate) is a psychedelic research chemical and a lysergamide derivative with an ergoline core structure. 1Fe-LSD is a prodrug of LSD and an analogue of 1BP-LSD. Consequently, its properties are almost identical to those of LSD—just like 1P-LSD, 1cP-LSD, 1S-LSD and 1BP-LSD. However, 1Fe-LSD also has characteristic features, such as a slightly longer onset than 1S-LSD, 1cP-LSD and 1P-LSD. 1Fe-LSD contains a ferrocenoyl group bound to the indole nitrogen of the LSD core. This group consists of an iron atom sandwiched between two cyclopentadienyl rings (a so-called metallocene). Due to the ferrocene-based moiety contained in the molecule, 1Fe-LSD is a chemically modified LSD variant that is currently not covered by the common regulatory provisions and therefore offers the possibility to investigate its pharmacokinetic properties and effect profiles under scientific observation. WHAT IS A PRODRUG?

1Fe-LSD is very similar to 1BP-LSD, 1S-LSD, 1D-LSD, 1V-LSD, 1cP-LSD and 1P-LSD, as it is also a prodrug of LSD. Although some report that 1Fe-LSD is cleaved somewhat more slowly than, for example, 1P-LSD, it can be regarded as an identical substitute for research purposes and enables permit-free research. Since 1Fe-LSD has a higher molar mass than many other LSD prodrugs due to the iron complex, a somewhat higher amount of substance is required. Based on our initial tests, 200 μg of 1Fe-LSD corresponds approximately to 200 μg of 1BP-LSD, 150 μg of 1S-LSD or 100 μg of LSD-25.
